If you are a small to medium site then most likely an advertiser would have to call or email you to inquire about rates, traffic, restrictions and what ad software you are using. Once the advertiser has made a deal with you he has to monitor that he is getting the traffic. And on top of it he will have to do the same for every site he wants to run a campaign on. That's a lot of work, and that's where we come in. By aggregating the traffic from many sites we make it easy for an advertiser to run and manage ads on many sites. Once your account has been registered you need to set up your website to accept ads. Please note that many of our successful publishers consider three primary factors – cost, quantity, and placement. We recommend you create your ad zones with respect to the three primary factors.
Cost:
Advertisers generally look for average CPC (cost per click) or CPM (cost per thousand impressions) of around $0.20. In other words, if their ads receive an average of 5 clicks per day or one thousand impressions from your site, they only want to pay about $1.00 per day. If the traffic is high quality and performs well, advertisers are often willing to pay more, but for new sites they will be hesitant to take that risk.
Quantity:
The next factor advertisers consider is exposure, i.e. how many people will see their ad. The more people the better. To increase exposure, you may want to work on building volume, either through organic growth or starting your own ad campaign to attract traffic to your site.
Placement:
Central placement on the top half of your site will increase the probability that users will notice the ads, thereby increasing the CTR (click-through rate) and your potential earnings. In our experience, up to 50% of a site’s advertisers originate from the "Your Ad Here" link. Be sure this link is displayed prominently in order to further monetize your current traffic.
